Paper Plate Skunk Craft [With Free Template!]

Skunks are some of the cutest little animals on the planet – especially baby skunks!

Package up all that cuteness into a fun activity with this paper plate skunk craft. It’s simple, fun and comes with a free printable template.

Kids will not only be able to paint, but also cut and glue so they’ll work on a variety of necessary skills that’ll help them in school and beyond!

Easy Skunk Craft For Kids

Directions

Download the skunk template, print and cut out the pieces.

Paint a paper plate in 1-2 thin coats of black paint and let dry completely before moving on.

Place the skunk head template as far down on the paper plate as possible, trace and cut out. Place the ear template on the top, leftover part of the paper plate, trace and cut out.

Glue the skunk stripe to the top of the paper plate, then glue the nose at the base of the stripe.

Make the mouth by gluing the tongue to mouth, then trim any excess off with the scissors. Glue the completed mouth just below the nose.

Position the eyes on either side of the stripe and glue in place.

Glue the inner ear onto the paper plate outer ear, then take the completed ears and glue them to the back of the paper plate.

Skunk Craft For Kids

This adorable skunk craft for kids is easy and great for forest or woodland animal themes!

Materials

  • Paper plates
  • Black paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored construction paper or cardstock
  • Skunk template (download form located at the end of this post)

Instructions

  1. Download the skunk template, print and cut out the pieces.
  2. Paint a paper plate in 1-2 thin coats of black paint and let dry completely before moving on.
  3. Place the skunk head template as far down on the paper plate as possible, trace and cut out. Place the ear template on the top, leftover part of the paper plate, trace and cut out.
