Walrus Paper Plate Craft

This adorable animal craft is a fun activity to do at home or school. Your little ones will not only enjoy the experience but can also learn about this interesting arctic animal!
Today, we’re showing you how to create this step by step and sharing a free printable template to make it even easier!
Supplies
- Paper plates
- Brown paint
- Paintbrush
- Colored cardstock
- Glue stick
- Pencil
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Walrus template (unlock the image at the end of the post to go to the download page)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this walrus to life!

First, guide your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of paint and let it dry completely.

Next, help your child trace the walrus head template onto the paper plate and cut off the top section only.
Position the eyes towards the top of the head and glue in place.

Glue the nose to the middle of the mouth.

Now, glue the tusks behind and on the bottom of the mouth. Use the marker to draw on whisker holes.

Finally, encourage your child to take this completed piece and glue it slightly over top the bottom of the eyes.
