Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring the turkey to life!
First, take a paper strip and cut small slits along one side that end in the middle. Repeat for all the paper strips.
Beginning at the bottom of the turkey’s body, glue the top portion of the paper strip onto the turkey. You do not want to glue the portion that you cut into. Next, glue another paper strip so it overlaps the previous strip. Repeat this process until your child has covered the entire turkey, then trim off an excess paper that hangs off the sides.
Position the eyes in the center of the face and glue them in place.
Now, help your child to glue the snood in between the eyes.
Place the beak on top of the snood and glue it down.
Attach and glue the feet to the bottom portion of the body.
Finally, encourage your child to glue the body to the center of the feathers. Give the turkey some dimension by curling up all the paper strips that are not glued down.
