Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this popsicle stick haunted house to life!

First, grab your popsicle sticks. These will be the walls of our haunted house. Lay out six sticks side by side, standing tall like fence posts. Then take two sticks and glue them across the top and bottom to hold everything together. I like to use glue dots for this, but you can also use hot glue.

Next, paint the popsicle sticks that form the body of the house. Then paint two sticks black for the roof. Let all the pieces dry before moving on.

Time for the spooky roof! Take the two black popsicle sticks and position them to form a peak at the top of your green house base.

Glue them securely in place, overlapping slightly to create a classic haunted house roofline.

Take the chimney piece and attach the chimney top to it with glue. This will complete the haunted house chimney.

Then, glue it on the back of the popsicle roof, slightly to one side, and glue it down.

Let’s add some eerie windows! Glue the spider window and the ghost window onto the top middle of the green house, spaced evenly.

Take the orange door piece and glue it at the bottom center of the haunted house, right below the windows.

Glue the door board pieces across the orange door to make it look sealed shut, giving the house a spooky abandoned feel.

Grab the gray gravestone pieces with “RIP” on them. Glue one on each side of the haunted house to make a spooky yard.

Take a marker and draw spooky details on the popsicle house base. Add cracks, spider webs, or lines to make it look old and haunted. Encourage your kids to come up with their own spooky designs, too.

Finally, add the ghost pieces. Let the kids decide where to place them so the haunted house feels alive with spooky spirits.
Optionally, add some fake spider webs to the house to make it truly haunted!

That’s it! This haunted house activity is so fun and can be completely customized to your child’s preferences. For more spookiness, check out these fun Halloween art ideas for kids!
