Scarecrow Art Activity For Kids [Free Printable]

If fall has hit and blustery winds are too cold for outdoor play, try this paper scarecrow art activity.

This simple art project will keep kids of all ages busy, encourage their creativity, and improve fine motor skills. It’s also a great way to get them excited about the fall season and everything that comes with it!

Besides all that, the project is low prep and doesn’t require any special craft supplies.

We’re even giving you the free printable so all you need to do is, print and start making some cute scarecrows!

Scarecrow Dot Art Project

Directions

Start by downloading the scarecrow template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this scarecrow to life!

First, encourage your child to paint the scarecrow by dipping the eraser or a q tip into the paint, then dotting in all the areas they want to be painted that color.

Repeat for all the colors, then let the scarecrow dry completely.

Cut out the scarecrow template with scissors.

Next, guide your child to cut out a small, thin rectangle from brown paper to act as the scarecrow’s stake. Glue this towards the bottom of a piece of colored paper.

Finish off the art project by gluing the scarecrow to the stake.

This scarecrow dot art activity is perfect for fall and Halloween. It's a fun, easy way to work on fine motor skills while also boosting creativity!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Paint
