Earlier this month I was browsing through The Land of Nod catalog when a hidden gem popped out at me and stole the spotlight. Yes, you guessed it; The Shy Little Kitten throw pillow! It’s so adorable that I chose it to be the one piece that brings the whole room together. I love vintage Little Golden Books and this one is no exception. This pillow is a perfect balance of vintage and modern with its illustration and unusual shape. The fact that it has so many colors in it also helped to determine the overall feel and color palette of the room.
Now there is one thing I have to admit…. I would definitely classify myself as a “dog person”. But I like to think a large part of that has to do with the fact that everyone in my family growing up was allergic to cats. So I never had the opportunity to have one as a pet. I tried pleading for a hairless cat with my parents when I was younger and again a few years ago with my husband, but they were both a no go. *Enter the world’s tiniest violin sob song* I mean why not?! They’re pretty much the weirdest creature you can have as a pet, who wouldn’t want that? Sadly, I’ll probably live my entire life a cat-less person.
Even though I shall have to remain free from cats, I do have to say that they are making quite the comeback. From art to fashion, to internet memes and more the cats are dominating pop culture at the moment. So I say embrace the moment and create this beautifully vintage nursery for your little baby girl!

Thanks Jen :) Yeah, there's just something special about vintage items that makes you feel like you're the only one that has them! I think I need to find some vintage pieces for myself!!
