First Day Of School Apple Craft
This cute apple craft is a hands-on way to bring a little fun to your classroom or kitchen table. Kids will love cutting out the bright red apple, adding a big bite mark, and arranging it on a tray filled with other snacks. It’s a cheerful activity that feels like a mix between art time and snack time!
While they’re creating their apple masterpiece, little hands are getting a great workout! Cutting, gluing, and placing the pieces help build fine motor strength and coordination. It’s also a fun way to ease into school routines with smiles and a sense of accomplishment.

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Apple Template (click the “click here to get your freebies” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this apple to life!
Grab the red apple shape and cream “bite” section. Help your child glue the cream bite piece onto the right side of the apple. This will give it that fun chomped look!
Glue on the paper eyes toward the top center of the apple under the eyebrows.
Grab the brown paper stem and glue it to the top and back of the apple. It should peek just above the apple’s head.
Now for a finishing touch on the apple! Glue the green leaf right next to the stem.
Take the blue lunch tray shape and glue your finished apple to one side. Leave room for the milk and cookie.
Next, glue the white milk carton cutout next to the apple on the tray.
Finish the milk carton by gluing the blue “MILK” label to the front.
Last but not least, dessert! Glue the cookie at the bottom of the tray. The round shape with chocolate dots is a sweet final touch.

Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Apple Template
Instructions
- Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Begin by gluing the bitten section onto the right side of the apple.
- Next, glue the eyes under the eyebrows near the center top of the apple.
- Then, glue the stem to the top and back of the apple.
- After that, glue the leaf next to the stem.
- Position the completed apple on one side of the tray and glue it down.
- Next, glue the milk carton onto the tray beside the apple.
- Glue the “MILK” label onto the front of the milk carton.
- Finally, glue the cookie onto the remaining space on the tray to complete the craft.
