Zoo Children’s Books

Reading aloud to kids is a great way for them to learn new vocabulary and improve their reading comprehension skills. It’s also a fun way to bond with your kiddos!

Because of this, we recommend adding books to all of your unit studies. Below are some of the most popular zoo books for kids. Grab them from your library or buy them to add to your collection!

The Fascinating Animal Book For Kids is a great book for curious kiddos! Find facts on almost any animal your child is learning about. This is a great resource to have in your home library collection.

The View At The Zoo is a silly book about all the animals at the zoo. When the people come to take a look at the animals, they see all sorts of sights! But, there’s a twist to this book that you have to read for yourself and laugh about!

Giraffes Can’t Dance is a sweet and fun book about Gerald the Giraffe. He can’t dance, but doesn’t stop trying! He finally finds his own rhythm when he meets an unlikely friend.

Animal Kids’ Crafts

Kids can use crafting as a means to explore different materials and textures, which will help develop their sense of touch. Crafting also gives children an outlet for creative energy and helps them learn important skills such as problem-solving skills and patience. That’s why we love crafts!

Add in some more zoo animal crafts with some of our favorites below:

Tiger Headband Craft – This tiger craft for kids is the perfect way to let their imaginations run wild! They can make it from paper or print it on white paper and color it in. Either way, they’ll have a blast making this fun headband.

Elephant Paper Bag Puppet – This elephant craft is not only incredibly cute, but it’s also great for puppet shows! The best part is that this project can be easily tailored to any age group. For younger children, you can pre-cut the elephant’s pieces from construction paper.

Older kids can use scissors and cut everything out themselves. Either way, this is a craft that is sure to bring smiles all around.

The end result is an adorable sloth that can be hung up on the wall or fridge as a reminder of a job well done

Peacock Handprint Craft – Peacocks are so cool! But you know what’s even cooler? A peacock handprint craft that you can make with your hands… and some paper. That’s right, no paint is needed for this colorful craft. Just follow the instructions and you’ll have a brilliant peacock in no time.
