We’re not really sure when this trend happened because we don’t remember it as children, but it sure is fun to look back on as the kids grow up.

These signs are super easy to print out at home too. The fit on an 8.5″x11″ paper so there’s no need to visit a printing store!

We love using our Canon laserjet printer for everything, but especially for colorful printables like these. Since we print so many things in color, we switched to a laser printer. And just let me tell you, it’s totally worth it!

Our printer creates clear, crisp, and awesome pictures. If you do a lot of color (or black and white) printing from home, we suggest you check out this printer.

Back To School Unit For Kids

It’s almost that time of year again! The time when kids head back to school and fill their brains with new information.

But before the learning can begin, there’s always the fun of shopping for school supplies and picking out a new backpack. This year, mix things up a bit and get your kids excited for the new school year with some back-to-school crafts, activities, and printables. Below are our favorite ideas!

Books About School

There are so many reasons why reading out loud to your children can help their development! For one thing, it helps them to develop their listening skills. They learn to pay attention to someone else’s voice and to follow along with a story.

Additionally, it exposes them to new vocabulary words and concepts. As they hear you read, they learn about different places, people, and things. It also helps them to develop their own reading skills. By seeing you read and hearing the words spoken out loud, they start to understand how reading works.

And finally, it’s just a lot of fun! Start the new school year with these fun books about school:

We Don’t Eat Our Classmates – This silly book is about a dinosaur named Penelope who is starting school and just can’t resist eating her classmates! Kids will love the fun drawings and crazy antics of Penelope, while also learning that being mistreated is never fun.

Chairs On Strike – The chairs have had enough of all the crazy things the kids do to them so they go on strike! This story helps kids learn to take care of their property and has lots of fun and silly humor.

Daniel Goes To School – If you have a little one who’s starting preschool or kindergarten and is reluctant to be away from you, this book is perfect for them! Daniel Tiger learns “grown-ups come back” at the end of every school day. We love this cute book!

School Crafts

There are many reasons why crafts are great for kids! For one, crafting helps to develop fine motor skills. Cutting, gluing and painting all require a level of dexterity that children can build up through practice.

In addition, crafts can also be a great way to foster creativity. And finally, crafts are also a great opportunity for kids to bond with others. Working on a project together can help kids feel connected and form lasting friendships!

Try any one of these fun school crafts:

Paper Plate Apple Craft – It’s that time of year again! The leaves are starting to change color, the evenings are getting cooler, and kids are heading back to school. To help your little ones get into the back-to-school spirit, why not try this fun apple craft?
