Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity for kids to celebrate love and friendship. Parents and kids can work together or kids can make Valentines for their friends.
There are many different Valentine crafts kids can make.
Crafting with kids is a great way to bond and spend time together while teaching kids responsibility and how to follow instructions.
One simple craft that kids can do with paper, glue, and a few other materials found at home or in the classroom is this hedgehog Valentine craft.

Valentines Day Craft

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Hedgehog template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)
Begin to create the hedgehog by gluing the body to the middle of the quills.

Next, take the eyes and glue them in the middle of the body, just beneath the ears.

Place the nose and mouth just below the eyes and glue them in place.

Glue the belly to the middle of the body, underneath the mouth.

Now place the heart in the middle of the belly. Glue it in place.

Finish off by gluing the arms, one on each side to the body so they are holding the heart.

Isn’t this a cute little Valentine craft? We love how simple it is!

Valentine Activities For Kids
Valentine’s Day is another great time to do some hands-on activities and to learn. Choose some or all of our ideas below to create a Valentine’s Day unit for kids.
The first thing we suggest is to grab some Valentine’s Day books for kids. Reading aloud to children can help them with reading comprehension, imagination, and improving their vocabulary.
Get these books on Amazon to add to your home collection or see if your local library has them on hand.
Love From The Crayons – If your kids love any of the Crayon books, they’ll want to read this Valentine version where the crayons explore the bright colors and subtle shades of love.
The Invisible String – This is a sweet story all children will want to hear. It’s about a mother who tells her two children that they’re all connected by an invisible string.
Little Blue Truck’s Valentine – Join Little Blue Truck as he delivers Valentine’s Day cards to all his farm animal friends. As he does, he wonders, will anyone give one to him?

Crafting is another fun and important activity for kids to do. It can help them practice fine motor skills, learn to follow directions, and have another way to express themselves.
