It’s Valentine’s Day, and kids are getting ready to celebrate. The kids may be dreaming of all the candy they’ll be getting, but we’ve got something that you and your kids will both love – a fun paper project!
This mermaid Valentines Day craft is a fun activity that kids can do at home or in the classroom.
It’s a great craft for young kids, and it doesn’t involve any messy supplies like paint or glitter.

Valentine’s Day Craft

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Pen
- Embelishment or sticker (optional)
- Mermaid template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)
Directions
Download the mermaid template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
Begin by gluing the swim top to the mermaid’s torso.
Next, take the tail and glue it to the back and bottom of the mermaid’s waist.
Glue the mermaid’s bangs to the top of her head.
Place the arms, one on each side of the body, and glue them to the back of the body. Angle them out slightly so they can hold the heart.
Next, glue the hair to the back of the mermaid’s head and upper body.
Write a short message on the heart, then glue it to the mermaid’s torso. Pull out the hands so they rest on top of the heart.
Optionally: Put a sticker or embellishment in the mermaid’s hair.
Finish it off by using a marker to draw scale marks along the tail.
Now your child has a fun mermaid they can give to a friend or keep for themselves!
