If there’s one zoo animal that always seems so hard to get a glimpse of, it’s the panda bear! There are only 3 zoos in the whole United States that have them on display, so it’s a rare sight indeed.
Because they’re so adorable, we’re sharing this panda paper bag puppet craft with you. It just might be our favorite zoo animal craft for kids!
Not only is this project cute, but it’s also super easy to make too! We’re giving you a free printable template so your kids can make their own at home.
Set aside a few minutes and make this panda craft with preschoolers, pre-k, and kindergarten children.

Zoo Animal Activities For Kids
We often are asked if we have any more ideas that can go along with our crafts and generally the answer is, yes!
Below we’re sharing some of our favorite zoo animal activities and ideas you can use to keep the kiddos occupied and learning.
First, we have lots of zoo animal crafts for kids to pick! Not only are these crafts fun for kids to make, but they’re also extremely helpful too. Children can work on follow directions, honing their fine motor skills, learn things like how much glue they need to attach something to paper.
These are a few of our readers favorite animal crafts:

If you need some worksheet ideas, these zoo animal printables are great. They’re fun for children and they help with handwriting, counting, letter recognition, patterns, and more!
These animal do a dot printables are another simple activity that’s no-prep. Just print and let the kids work on counting, letter recognition, and fine motor skills.
Books are a great way to get even further into a theme! On top of that, reading to kids helps them develop a stronger vocabulary and helps them learn to focus. It’s a win-win situation! Try out some of these cool books about space:
The Fascinating Animal Book For Kids is a great book for curious kiddos! Find facts on almost any animal your child is learning about. This is a great resource to have in your home library collection.
The View At The Zoo is a silly book about all the animals at the zoo. When the people come to take a look at the animals, they see all sorts of sights! But, there’s a twist to this book that you have to read for yourself and laugh about!
Giraffes Can’t Dance is a sweet and fun book about Gerald the Giraffe. He can’t dance, but doesn’t stop trying! He finally finds his own rhythm when he meets an unlikely friend.
Sensory activities are also another activity you’ll want to incorporate into your zoo animal theme. This zoo playdough kit is perfect for letting the kids have some independent playtime.
We hope your kids have a blast with all of these easy ideas!
