Supplies
- Paper plates
- Brown paint
- Paintbrush
- Black marker
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Gingerbread template (click the “click here to get your freebies” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this gingerbread to life!

First, guide your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. If you want to skip this step, use brown party plates instead.

Place the icing hair on the top of the paper plate and glue it into place. Make sure you use enough glue on the ridges to make it stick.

Glue the eyes just beneath the hair.

Next, help your child to glue the cheeks below the eyes on both sides.

To make a gingerbread boy, glue the bow tie at the bottom of the plate. To make a girl gingerbread, glue the bow on her hair.

Finally, encourage your child to draw a smile between the two cheeks with the black marker.

That’s it! It’s a simple Christmas craft that’s great for young children to make!
