Printable Squirrel Preschool Activities

As kids follow the squirrels through each activity, their day will be filled with an adorable woodland adventure!

Each sheet in this squirrel-themed bundle is thoughtfully designed to build early skills while keeping them interested and entertained. Here are the printables you will get:

Count And Graph Practice

With each squirrel carefully drawn in a slightly different position, children are encouraged to pay close attention to visual details.

Then they have to count the identical squirrels and fill in the graph accordingly with crayons or color markers. This activity supports counting, sorting, and comparing quantities, which are key parts of early math.

A children’s worksheet titled “Count And Graph” features rows of cartoon squirrels in different poses at the top and a bar graph at the bottom. The graph is filled in with blue crayon to represent the count of each squirrel type.Pin

Printable Squirrel Maze

With leaves, flowers, and a ladybug scattered throughout the path, they are invited to help a squirrel find its friend at the end of the maze.

While it may look like pure fun, this strengthens problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination. As little ones trace their way through the winding paths, they’re also working on pencil control and focus.

Match The Object: Squirrel Edition

Kids get to draw lines to match each squirrel on the left with its identical friend on the right.

This builds visual discrimination, which helps children spot small differences and similarities in shapes and patterns, which are essential skills for both reading and math readiness.

A children’s worksheet titled “Match The Object” features two columns of illustrated squirrels in various poses, with blue crayon lines connecting identical pairs from left to right.Pin

Squirrel-Themed Shadow Matching

This one brings in a fun twist, as they match colorful squirrel pictures to their black silhouette shadows. It’s a nice challenge that supports memory, attention to detail, and strengthens the ability to process shapes in different forms.

A children’s worksheet titled “Shadow Matching” features four illustrated squirrels on the left and their corresponding black silhouettes on the right, with blue crayon lines correctly connecting each squirrel to its matching shadow.Pin

A Walk Through the Woods– This beautiful and intricate children’s book will keep children engaged and wanting to turn the page!

Woodland Animal Crafts For Kids

Squirrel Handprint Craft – Here’s an adorable keepsake to remember your little one’s tiny hands as they grow up!

They trace their handprint to create the squirrel’s arms and legs, which helps little ones strengthen hand muscles and develop control. It also gives them a chance to express their creativity with simple art supplies.

Owl Shape Craft – If your little ones enjoy getting hands-on with scissors, glue, and paint, this owl-themed project is going to be a hit. It gives children the chance to build an owl using basic shapes like circles, ovals, and triangles.

As they put their bird pal together, they’re learning shape recognition, spatial awareness, and how to follow instructions.

Cardinal Paper Plate Craft – We have another bird-themed DIY that’s perfect for a bright pop of color.

With just a paper plate, red paper, and a little imagination, they create a cheerful cardinal with big expressive eyes while they build their confidence in using scissors.

The painting part of the task makes this a fantastic project for little artists at home and school.

Raccoon Paper Bag Puppet – For something a bit more playful, they get to assemble their raccoon puppet using cut-out pieces and a brown paper bag.

Puppet-making is excellent for strengthening sequencing and memory skills, and using the puppet afterward helps build language and communication skills through storytelling and conversation.
