Kids will be so excited and filled with pride to present him with their handmade masterpiece, so gather up a handful of basic supplies to get started. We’ve also provided a free template to make it easy on you.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Turtle template (click the “click here to get this freebie” image at the end to open the form)
Directions
Start by downloading the turtle template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this project to life!
First, encourage your child to glue the bottom shell piece to the lower part of the top of shell piece.
Next, glue the underside shell piece to the middle and back of the shell.
Help your child arrange the front legs on both sides of the under shell piece and glue them to the back.
Finish up the legs by gluing the back legs just behind and on the outside of the front legs.
Next, guide your child to glue the head to the center of the shell.
Now, help your child to position the eyes below the eyebrows and glue them in place.
Finally, glue the turtle to the center of the background paper.
