Every spring kids are eager to get outside and play in the dirt. They love to dig holes, make mud pies, hunt for bugs and flowers, and just explore all that nature has to offer.

But when outside time is over, kids can get a bit bored and reach from screen time.

Stop the boredom and make a fun spring craft instead! This handprint bee craft is a great craft kids can do.

Bees are some of the most important pollinators of plants on earth so it’s important kids learn about these amazing creatures while they’re still young.

Colored cardstock or construction paper
Scissors
Markers
Pencil
Ruler (optional)
Glue stick

Directions

Download the bee template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Start by gluing the cheeks, one on each side, beneath the eyes.

Place the antennae behind the head and at slight angle and glue in place.

Trace your child’s hand onto a piece of yellow paper and cut it out. Take a black marker and a ruler to draw black stripes onto the handprint.

Next, glue the head to the base side of the handprint.

Finish off the bee by gluing one wing to the front of the bee, on the handprint. Take the other wing, flip it the opposite way to the first wing and glue it to the back of the handprint.
