Torn Paper Easter Egg Craft [Free Printable Template]

Decorating Easter eggs is always an egg-citing tradition for kids, but if you’d rather skip the dye this year, there’s another fun way to create colorful eggs!

This torn paper Easter egg craft brings all the festive charm without the mess, making it a great option for little hands to explore their creativity.

Easter Fine Motor Activity

Tearing paper is great for building fine motor skills, hand strength, and bilateral coordination. This project gives little fingers a workout while allowing kids to express their creativity in a hands-on way.

Directions

Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this easter egg to life!

Now, take a glue stick and spread glue all over the inside of the egg outline. You can also get the torn paper pieces ready on the side so they’re easy to grab and stick!

Take the torn paper pieces and press them onto the glued surface, covering the entire egg shape.

Now, it’s time to add some colorful patterns! Grab pieces you’re using and glue them onto the egg.

Now for the cutest part—adding the eyes! Glue them near the top and center of the egg, and just like that, it starts to come to life!

A friendly egg needs a happy smile! Grab the mouth piece and help your child glue it right under the eyes.

Grab the tongue piece and glue it inside the mouth for extra detail. This little touch makes the face even more expressive!

Using a black marker, draw on some eyelashes and eyebrows to complete your Easter egg’s happy face. This is where kids can add their creative flair!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Easter Egg Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces needed.
  • Apply glue all over the inside of the egg outline. Keep the torn paper pieces nearby.
  • Place the torn paper pieces onto the glued area, covering the entire egg shape.
  • Glue the paper egg decorations onto the egg.
  • Place the eyes near the top center of the egg and glue them down.
  • Glue the mouth piece below the eyes.
  • Then, glue the tongue piece inside the mouth for added detail.
  • Use a black marker to draw the eyelashes and an eyebrow above the eyes.
