Clown Gingerbread Man Costume
Kids will turn their gingerbread man into a clown by choosing their favorite colors to personalize every part of his funny look! They could even choose to add polka dots or stripes to make it even more unique.

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- White Paint Pen or Crayola Bold & Bright marker
- Tape
- Pipe Cleaner

Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this clown gingerbread man to life!
Help your child glue the eyes under both eyebrows.
Next, grab the mouth piece. Line it up just below the eyes and glue it in place.
Now it’s time for the classic clown detail! Glue the nose right above the mouth and press it down. Kids love this step because it instantly makes the gingerbread man look like a clown.
Take the shorts piece and line it up with the bottom of the body. Glue it down firmly.
After that, glue the shirt over the top half of the body, overlapping slightly with the shorts.
Grab the suspenders and place one on each side of the shirt so they run straight up and down, then glue them securely in place.
Let’s give our gingerbread man a bowtie! Glue the bowtie just under the mouth.
Optionally, take the pom poms and glue them down the center of the shirt.
Now it’s time for the clown hair! Glue one hair piece on each side of the head, and watch the gingerbread instantly turn into a silly clown.
Next, glue the hat right on top of the head. It’s a small step, but it finishes off the clown look and makes the whole craft feel complete and extra fun.
Grab a white paint pen or marker and help your child draw fun icing squiggles along the arms and legs, just like a real decorated gingerbread man.
It’s time for the balloon, which kids always get excited about! Tape one end of the pipe cleaner to the back of the balloon cutout.
Lastly, let’s give our gingerbread man a balloon to complete his clown disguise! Glue it to his hand, and just like that, he’s ready to head into the circus for some big smiles and fun.

Instructions
- Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Begin by gluing the eyes under both eyebrows.
- Position the mouth slightly below the eyes and glue it in place.
- Glue the nose just below the eyes, so it's covering a small amount of the eyes.
- Line up the shorts with the bottom of the body and glue them down.
- Place the shirt on the upper part of the body, and glue it in place.
- Add the suspenders by gluing one on each side of the shirt.
- Glue the bowtie under the mouth.
- Optionally, place the pom-poms down the center of the shirt and glue them in place.
- Glue both hair pieces onto the back and sides of the gingerbread man's head.
- Set the hat on top of the head and glue it down.
- Draw icing-style squiggles along the arms and legs using a paint pen or marker.
- Cut a pipe cleaner to a length of about 3-4 inches. Tape one end of the pipe cleaner to the back of the balloon.
- Lastly, glue the balloon onto the gingerbread man’s hand to complete the disguise.
