5 Loaves and 2 Fish Craft
A young boy offered five barley loaves and two small fish, and Jesus blessed and multiplied them so that everyone in the crowd of over 5,000 had enough to eat, with plenty left over! Kids will love creating a basket of loaves and fishes while hearing about this miracle using just a few basic supplies.
This loaves and fishes activity works well for Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, or even as a fun project at home. It helps reinforce the story and gives kids a hands-on way to remember how Jesus cares for people’s needs.

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper

Directions
Start by printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring these loaves and fishes to life!

Look for the two fish pieces and lay them on the table. Now find the eye pieces and glue them onto each fish’s face.

Grab the basket piece and place it in front of you. Do a quick pretend setup by sliding the loaves and fish behind the basket opening, then glue the loaves in place so they peek out the top.
As you press them down, talk about how there were enough loaves for everyone in the Bible story.

Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Loaves and Fishes Craft Template
Instructions
- Print the template and cut out the pieces you need.
- Begin by gluing the eyes onto the fish faces.
- Next, take a fish and glue it to the back of the basket.
- Glue a loaf behind the first fish, then glue the second fish behind the loaf of bread.
- Glue a second loaf behind the previous fish.
- Finish up by placing the other 3 loaves behind the first row of fish and bread and glue them in place.
