It’s that time of year again: Christmas is coming! And kids are busy getting ready.
They’re making lists and checking them twice, they’re hanging stockings by the chimney with care, and they’re dreaming about what gifts might be waiting underneath the tree when they wake up on the morning of December 25th.

This activity is all about disguising a gingerbread man as an underwater creature!

Gingerbread Mermaid Craft

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White gel marker or whiteout pen (optional)
- Mermaid template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)
Directions
Download the mermaid template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Place the eyes on either side of the eyes, just above the smile.

Next, glue the seashells in the chest area of the gingerbread body.

Position the bangs on top of the head and glue them in place.

Take the hair and glue it to the back of the mermaid’s head.

Place the mermaid tail slightly below the seashells and glue it in place.

Finish the mermaid by drawing icing decorations on the ends of the arm and a belly button above the mermaid tail.
