Chicken Dressed As A Scarecrow Craft

As they cut, glue, and assemble their chicken scarecrow, they’ll be building fine motor skills, practicing using their creativity, and developing hand-eye coordination. Plus, it’s an adorable project they’ll be proud to show off.

Supplies

• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• Markers
• Chicken scarecrow template (unlock the free template at the end of the post)

Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this chicken to life!

First, guide your child to glue the eyes to the face of the chicken.

Next, glue the beak below the eyes.

Now, help your child glue the green hat patch to the center of the scarecrow hat.

Glue the yellow hair to the back and bottom of the hat.

Draw the stitching marks all around the hat patch.

Position the scarecrow hat on top of the head and glue it in place.

Place and glue the patch to the center of the overalls.

Using the marker, draw the stitching marks all around the patch.

Next, glue the head to the top of the overalls.

Glue the wings on the back and sides of the body.

Position the straw to the bottom and back of the overall legs and glue them in place.

Finally, encourage your child to glue the feet to the back and bottom of the straw.
