Monster Paper Bag Puppet Craft [Free Template]

Halloween is a great time of year for kids to get creative and make crafts like this monster paper bag puppet!

This craft is not only fun to make but also fun to play with! Kids can put on a puppet show for the family or just pretend play by themselves. Either way, they’ll have a blast!

It’s easy enough that even young children can participate, which makes it perfect for preschoolers or kindergartners who are still developing their fine motor skills.

We’re also giving you a free printable template so there’s no need to draw it out yourself!

Halloween Monster Craft

Supplies

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Monster template (enter email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the monster template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Place the eyes, one on each side of the head, and glue them in the middle of the small rectangle.

Next, glue the nose in between the eyes.

Create the mouth by gluing the tongue to the bottom of mouth and the teeth to the top of the mouth. Cut off any paper that hangs off.

Take the completed mouth and glue it to the middle of the head, just below the nose.

Take the head and glue the horns to the back of the top left and right corner. Glue the completed to the flap portion of the brown paper bag.

Create the body by gluing the belly to the center of the body piece.

Take the body stripes and glue them on both sides of the body piece. Cut off the paper that hangs off.

Take the completed body and glue it to the main portion of the brown paper bag.
