Valentine Giraffe Craft

This festive project is perfect for adding a personal touch to Valentine’s Day while encouraging your kiddos to hone their fine motor skills and show off their artistic skills.

Directions

Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this giraffe to life!

First, encourage your child to draw the spots around the giraffe’s body.

Next, draw the hoof on the bottom portion of the feet.

Position the inner ears in the center of the ears and glue them in place.

Glue the eyes below on the inside of the eyelashes.

Now, help your child glue the mouth and nose piece below the eyes.

Place the heart in the center of the body.

Next, glue the arms to the sides of the heart.

Glue the cheeks below the eyes.

Position the ossicones (horn-like pieces) to the top and back of the head and glue them down.

Finally, guide your child to glue the circle part of the ossicone to the top portion of the previous piece.

This giraffe valentine craft is ready to help your kids tell someone special, “I’m head over hooves for you!”

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Giraffe template

Instructions

  1. Download the giraffe template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Begin by drawing the spots around the giraffe's body.
  3. Next, draw the hooves on the bottom portion of the feet.
  4. Position the inner ears in the center of the ears and glue them in place.
  5. Glue the eyes to the insides of the eyelashes.
  6. Now, glue the nose and mouth pieces below the eyes.
  7. Place the heart in the center of the body and glue it down.
  8. Next, glue the arms to the sides of the heart.
  9. Glue the cheeks below the eyes.
  10. Position the ossicone base (horn like structure) to the top and back of the head and glue them down.
  11. Finish off by gluing the circle part of the ossicone to the top part of the previous piece.
