This hands-on project is a perfect way for kids to feel part of the story and bring the character to life with their creativity. It enhances the reading experience and lets them practice fine motor skills as they cut and assemble Pete’s Santa look.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity to discuss the themes of kindness and helpfulness that make the story so special.

Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors

Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring the Pete the Cat to life!

First, guide your child to glue the red coat to the body.

Next, glue the coat fluff on the neck.

Place the black belt on the red coat and glue it down.

Glue the buckle to the center of the belt.

Now, help your child to glue the button to the red coat.

Position the leg fluff on the legs and glue them in place.

Now, glue the nose to the lower part of the face.

Next, glue the eyes above the nose.

Glue the hat fluff to the bottom edge of the Santa hat.

Place the hat pom at the end of the Santa hat and glue it down.

Finally, encourage your child to glue the Santa hat to the top and back of Pete’s head.
