Elf is the greatest “new” classic Christmas movie ever, right?! We think so too and that’s why last year we made a Buddy the Elf photo craft for kids to make.
It was an instant hit, but then we realized we may be leaving out one of the other best characters in the movie, Jovie.
Jovie is sarcastic, funny and a perfect balance to Buddy so we knew we had to make her too.
This Jovie the Elf photo craft for kids is perfect for girls who don’t want to make a Buddy puppet.
Like our one from last year, we’ve included a free printable template to make this printable craft for kids super simple!
Read the directions or watch our short video tutorial to see how to make this craft with your kids. Also, be sure to check out all of our photo crafts for kids for even more ideas!

We think our Buddy The Elf photo craft is super popular because he’s hilarious and everyone wants to be him! It’s also a craft that’s really easy and doesn’t need many supplies.
We had a few requests for a template in black and white for kids to color in, so when we made the Jovie version we included both full color and black and white versions!
Supplies
- White card stock
- Photo of your child
- Brads
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Crayons or markers (optional; if using the black and white template)
- Jovie the elf template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)
Directions
Download the Jovie free printable template, print, and cut out the pieces.
Take the photo of your child and cut out the head, neck, and hair from the rest of the photo. If you’re using the black and white version, let the kids color them in.
Glue the pink elf hat to the top of your child’s photo.
Place the girl’s elf dress on the bottom of the child’s photo and glue it in place.
Use the hole punch to punch out the shoulders, arm, and leg holes.
Place the brad through the arm piece and then through the shoulder hole. Spread the brad out on the backside of the craft. Repeat on the other side.
See where you want to position the elf legs, then mark that spot with your finger. Use the hold punch to punch the circles in the dress.
Place the brad through the dress hole and then through the leg hole. Spread the brad out on the backside of the craft. Repeat on the other side.
That’s all you need to do to make your very own Jovie the elf! Isn’t she so cute? We’re certain girls will love creating this Christmas craft!
Use it as a fun craft to do with the kids, as a homemade Christmas tree ornament, or even make the whole family and use it as a garland. The possibilities are really endless!
