Christmas Craft For Preschoolers

This Christmas tree craft for preschoolers brings creativity and learning together in a festive way! Kids will design their own Christmas trees out of basic shapes using triangles for branches, rectangles for the trunk, and stars for the topper. They’ll even use spheres (pom poms) to decorate the tree with ornaments.

Directions

Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this Christmas tree to life!

Help your child look for the middle tree piece, the triangle with the eyelashes and smile. Glue the eyes directly below the eyelashes.

Next, find the largest triangle piece, which is the bottom of the tree. Glue the face piece to the top and middle of the bottom part of the tree.

Take the smallest triangle piece, which will be the top of the Christmas tree, and glue it to the top and middle of the face piece.

Now, let your little one add the star on top to finish the tree.

We need a strong base for our lovely tree! Find the brown paper rectangle, which is the tree trunk. Glue it to the very bottom and center of the tree, peeking out just underneath.

This is the most exciting part! It’s time to decorate! We are using colorful pom poms for our ornaments. Let your child choose where to place them all over the green tree sections. It’s fantastic for practicing fine motor skills!

Christmas Tree Shape Craft

This Christmas Tree Shape Craft lets kids turn simple shapes into a festive and cheerful holiday decoration.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Small Pom Poms
  • Christmas Tree Shape Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by gluing the eyes directly on the middle tree piece, just below the eyelashes.
  • Next, glue the middle triangle piece onto the top of largest triangle piece to form the bottom of the tree.
  • Now, glue the smallest triangle piece to the top of the middle section to complete the top of the tree.
  • Add the star on top of the tree and glue it in place.
  • Glue the trunk to the back and bottom of the tree.
  • Finish by gluing small pom poms all around the tree. Alternatively, you can draw them on with markers or use stickers.
