Kids are obsessed with Star Wars!

They can recite the dialogue, they have action figures and playsets, they dress up as their favorite characters for Halloween, and they build replicas of ships with their LEGO. It’s a whole culture unto itself!

This Darth Vader paper bag puppet craft is perfect for kids who love Star Wars because it helps bring their favorite characters to life.

It’s also a great way to celebrate May the 4th, which has become known as Star Wars Day.

This craft is simple and only requires a few supplies that you probably already have around the house. So break out the paper bags and get ready to make your very own Darth Vader!

Darth Vader Craft

Supplies

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Darth Vader template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the Darth Vader template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Create his helmet by gluing the rounded rectangle to the back and middle of the arch piece. Take this completed piece and glue it to the middle of the helmet.

Make Darth Vader’s eyes by gluing the two black eyes to the helmet. Next, glue the gray eye spots to the black eyes.

Take the mouth piece and glue it in between and slightly below the eyes. Glue the two circles to the bottom corners of the mouth piece.

Place glue all along the flap portion of the brown paper bag and glue the helmet to it.

Next, make the body by gluing the body piece to the main portion of the brown paper bag. Cut off the excess paper bag that isn’t covered.

Place the light gray rectangle panel in the middle of the body and glue it in place.

Finish up by gluing the black rectangle and the colorful squares to the light gray panel piece.
