Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this toolbox to life!

Help your child glue the gray hammer head to the top of the hammer neck. Gently press it down and give it a few seconds to stick.

Next, take the red hammer base and help your child glue it to the bottom of the hammer’s neck.

Let your little one glue on two eyes right near the top. As soon as those eyes go on, something magical happens… this hammer has a face, and it’s adorable!

Next up is the screwdriver! Glue the orange handle to the gray tip.

Grab the wrench piece and glue the eyes to give it some charm! These silly tools quickly turn into a cheerful little crew ready to surprise Dad or Grandpa!

Now that all your tools have faces, let’s give them a place to go! Grab the blue toolbox base and lay it flat. First, glue the hammer to the right side.

Then add the screwdriver in the center, gluing it down.

Finally, glue the wrench on the left side. It’s starting to look like a cute, cartoon toolbox.

Now, grab the folded card base. Glue it right over the bottom of the tools—just enough to make them look like they’re tucked inside.

Grab the “Dad’s Toolbox” or “Grandpa’s Toolbox” label (depending on who you’re making it for), then glue the label right onto the front of the tool box.

Optionally, add the toolbox handle. Grab the white inner handle piece and glue it onto the gray outer handle piece.

Then, glue the handle to the top and back of the card. This is the final building step, and it really pulls the look together.

Time for sweet messages! Lift the flap and have your child add a message, a little heart, a doodle, or even a funny drawing of Dad. This is where the card turns into a keepsake!

And just like that, you’ve got the cutest Father’s Day or Grandpa card that’s bursting with personality, love, and happy faces. Don’t you just love how this turned out? Check out some of our other favorite card crafts for special occasions while you’re here!
