It’s nearly February and Groundhog’s Day is almost here! That’s why we’re sharing this cute and easy Groundhog paper bag puppet craft for kids.
This craft is a fun way to celebrate with the kids. You can teach them about why Groundhog’s Day is celebrated and what it means if the groundhog sees his shadow or not!

Groundhog’s Day Craft For Kids

Supplies
- Paper Bags
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Groundhog template (enter your email in the form at the end of this page to have the link emailed to you)
Directions
Download the groundhog template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Glue the head to the flap portion of the paper bag, then glue the eyes just above the nose.


Place the inner ears in the middle of the outers ears and glue in place.

Take the teeth and glue them down just below the mouth line.

Glue the groundhog body onto the remaining portion of the brown paper bag.

Position the belly in the middle of the body and glue it in place, then glue the arms at the top of the body.


Now your child has a fun groundhog puppet they can play with and enjoy!
