Cute Chick DIY for Easter Time

This handprint craft for preschoolers will have them create a yellow chick peeking out of a decorated Easter egg. Their little hands become the chick’s feathery wings, and they can design their Easter egg any way their imaginations take them. Children will love seeing their handprints turn into the wings of their chick!

Directions

Start by printing the template, then gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this easter chick to life!

Look for the yellow head piece and the pink cheeks. Glue the cheek pieces on each side of the face, lining them up under the brows and leaving space in the center for the eyes.

Glue the eye pieces in the center of the chick’s face. Place them slightly close together, just above the cheeks, and leave space below for the beak. This makes your chick look extra cute!

Grab the orange beak and glue it right between the eyes.

Take the egg piece and glue it to the bottom of the chick’s head. It should look like your chick has just hatched and is peeking out of the egg!

Glue the stripes across the egg to decorate it. This is a fun way to explore patterns and creativity.

Take the orange feet pieces and glue them behind the bottom of the egg so they peek out from underneath.

Trace your child’s hands on yellow paper, cut them out, and glue one to each side of the chick, slightly behind the head, so they look like wings.

Handprint Easter Chick

This Handprint Easter chick craft lets kids create an adorable chick hatching from an egg, complete with handprint wings for a fun and personal touch.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Easter Chick Template

Instructions

  • Print the template and gather the materials for this fun activity.
  • Begin by gluing the cheek pieces to each side of the head, closer to the bottom of the head.
  • Glue the eye pieces in the center of the face, underneath the eyebrows.
  • Take the beak and glue it between the eyes.
  • Glue the egg piece to the bottom of the chick.
  • Take the stipes and glue them across the egg to decorate it.
  • Grab the feet pieces and glue it behind the bottom of the egg.
  • Trace your child’s hands on paper two times, cut out the handprints, and glue one on each side of the back of the chick, slightly behind the head to form the wings.
