For us, it’s koalas and kangaroo, which is exactly why we’re sharing this paper plate koala craft for kids!
It’s perfect for making if the kids are learning about Australia, the letter K, or just because it’s their favorite animal.

This craft is simple and lets your kids’ creativity flow. There’s painting, cutting and gluing so they’ll be using their hands and working on fine motor skills.

Easy Koala Craft

Supplies
- Paper Plates
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue
- Tape (optional)
- Koala template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have it emailed to you)
Directions
Download the koala template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Begin by painting the paper plate in a thin coat of gray paint. Let dry completely before moving on.

Place the koala head template on the dry paper plate, trace, and cut out.

Glue the koala’s eyes slightly above the center line of the head.

Next, glue the mouth to the middle of the plate so the top part of it is slightly overlapping the bottom of the eyes.

Take the nose and glue it just above the mouth.

Glue the cheeks just below and to the side of the eyes.

Finish the koala’s ears by gluing the pink inner ear to the gray outer ear. Tape or glue the completed ear to the top, back of the koala’s head.


Now your child has a cute koala craft they can show off to the whole family!
