This project is perfect for one-on-one crafting at home or as a group activity in the classroom. Students can wear their pumpkin headbands while reading autumn books, laughing with friends, or attending a fall festival!
Grab our free template and your supplies like colorful paper, scissors, and glue, and you’ll be all set for an afternoon of pumpkin making fun. Kids can decorate their headbands however they like, adding some personality to their pumpkin creations!
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Tape
- Pumpkin template (unlock the free template at the end of the post)

Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this pumpkin to life!

First, guide your child to draw the vertical lines on the pumpkin with an orange marker. Next, glue the stem to the top and back portion of the pumpkin.

Now, help your child to glue the eyes below the eyebrows.

Position the cheeks below the eyes and glue them in place.

Finally, encourage your child to tape the extenders on both ends of the headband.
