Rocket Craft For Kids

It involves painting, coloring, and cutting! Just think of all the great skills the kids are working on when they make this craft!

It’s a great art project for kindergarten or elementary-aged kids and works equally as well at home or at school.

Supplies

Directions

Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this rocket to life!

First, guide your child to build a rocket ship by gluing together the small inner circle onto the larger outer circle.  Next, glue these circles onto the middle part of the rocket.

Glue the cone shape tip onto the pointed end of the rocket.

Next, glue the small strip just below the tip of the rocket. Glue the bottom of the ship behind the middle piece.

Add the smaller rocket flame to the top of the larger flame cutouts and glue it behind the bottom of the rocket.

Now, help your child to cut a larger circle out of the white paper. Glue this circle at the top corner of a black piece of paper.

Trim any excess off of the black paper, then draw circles on the moon with a gray crayon. Make stars all over the black paper by dabbing the paintbrush in white paint. Let dry completely.

Finally, encourage your child to glue the rocket onto the black paper.
