Magical Pumpkin Disguise Idea for Girls
Pumpkins get a magical makeover when kids turn them into an adorable unicorn! It’s a safe and mess free way to decorate pumpkins without carving or scooping out the insides. Kids can customize their unicorn pumpkin with their favorite colors when decorating her mane and flower crown.
This easy Halloween craft for kids is also a great way for them to build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creative expression. They’ll make their own colorful unicorn design that they’ll be excited to hang up to display all season long.
Grab our printable unicorn template to make this project really easy to put together. Just gather up some paper, scissors, glue, crayons or markers to get started. Once you have this fun project ready to go, have your little artists decorate their pumpkins like a character out of a fairytale!

- Colored cardstock or construction paper

Directions
Start by printing the template, then gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this unicorn pumpkin to life!
Grab the two eye pieces and glue them onto the pumpkin, placing one on each side of the face below the eyebrows.
Take the nose/mouth piece and glue it near the bottom center of the pumpkin, between the eyes.
Look for the two cheek pieces and glue one on each side of the nose/mouth.
Layer and glue the bottom part of mane, middle part of mane, and top part of mane together, overlapping each piece to create the unicorn’s colorful hair. Kids can have fun choosing how they want the colors to look together.
Once the mane pieces are layered, glue the completed mane across the top of the pumpkin. Position it so it curves over the forehead and the ends extend toward the sides.
Glue the horn piece onto the top center of the pumpkin. This fun detail makes the unicorn disguise really start to come together!
Grab the markers! Let your child color in the flower crown. They can use different colors for each flower and add little details to the petals to make their unicorn pumpkin extra bright and playful.
Once the flower crown is ready, glue it across the front of the mane, just below the horn.
Glue each smaller inner ear piece onto the center of a larger ear piece, leaving a border around the inner ear.
Finally, glue the completed ears behind the top left and top right sides of the pumpkin so they peek out beside the mane and flower crown.
Your pumpkin is ready to display with its magical unicorn disguise! Kids can show off their creativity as they color the flowers, choose different colors, and put their unicorn together.
