Cat Leprechaun Craft For Kids

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Active Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Your kids will love creating this cat leprechaun craft! This curious little cat wanted to get in on the holiday fun, especially since there was a pot of gold to be found!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Cat template

Instructions

  1. Download the cat template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Begin to make the leprechaun hat by gluing the hat band in the middle of the hat, then glue the outer buckle to the middle of the hat. Use a black marker to draw in the inner buckle.
  3. Make the cat's head by gluing the spot and ear piece to each side of the cat's head. Use a pink marker to draw the inner ears and the cat's nose.
  4. Next, take the eyes and glue them below each of the eyebrows.
  5. Place the hat on the top of the cat's head and glue it in place.
  6. Create the cat's body by gluing the belly to the middle and bottom of the cat's body. Next, glue the feet on the bottom of the body, on both sides of the belly.
  7. Make the pot of gold by gluing the pot to the bottom and front of the gold. Take the completed pot of gold and glue the bottom part of it to the middle of the cat's body. Make sure to leave the top part of the gold unglued so you can put the cat's head behind it in the later steps.
  8. Next, glue the arms on both sides of the cat's body to make it look like it's holding the pot of gold. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the sides.
  9. Take the head and glue it to the top of the cat's body, behind the pot of gold.
  10. Finish up by gluing the tail to the back and bottom of the cat's body.

Notes

If this cat has too many steps for your child, we also have a 4 piece, color-in version of this craft for younger kids included in the template.
