Handprint Zebra Craft For Kids

Need a fun and simple z is for zebra craft? We think this handprint zebra is one of the cutest around!

And, since it’s such a simple idea it’s great for making with toddlers, preschool and kindergarten children. On top of that, we’ve included a free printable template so everyone can make this zebra!

Zebra Craft Idea

Supplies

  • White card stock or construction paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Pencil
  • Zebra handprint template (download form located at the end of this page)

Directions

Download the zebra template, print and cut out the head and tail.

Use a pink marker to draw in the inner ear on the zebra’s head. Use the same pink marker to draw two small cheeks underneath the eyes.

Use a gray marker to fill in the muzzle area of the zebra’s face, like in the picture.

Take the black marker and draw in the stripes all over the zebra’s body and legs. You can make the stripes all on one side or alternate on each side. Fill in the stripes with the black marker.

Continue using the black marker to draw in the stripes on the zebra’s tail. On one tail we made solid stripes along the entire length and on the other we did pointed stripes. Do whichever one you like better.

One quick tip is to do this before cutting the tail out from the paper. It may be a little easier for small hands to do it that way.

Assemble the zebra handprint by gluing the head to the thumb and the tail to the back of the zebra, along the pinky side.

Make this super simple and cute handprint zebra craft for kids!

Materials

  • White card stock or construction paper
  • Markers
  • Glue stick
  • Pencil
  • Zebra handprint template (download form located at the end of this page)

Tools

  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Download the free zebra template, print and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Use a pink marker to draw in the zebra's inner ear and cheeks
  3. Use a gray marker to draw on the zebra's muzzle area.
  4. Use the black marker to draw stripes all along the base of the palm and the fingers. Make hooves by coloring in the bottom of the fingertips.
  5. Draw on the stripes on the zebra's tail.
  6. Glue the zebra's head to the thumb area.
  7. Glue the zebra's tail to the opposite side, on the back.
