Easy Leprechaun Handprint Craft [Free Printable Template]

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, and it’s time to get creative! Creating is a great way to celebrate the holiday with your kids while teaching them some valuable skills.

Our leprechaun handprint craft will surely put a smile on your kid’s face this St. Paddy’s Day! Not only is it fun and easy, but you’ll have something to treasure for years to come.

Your kids will have so much fun making these leprechaun handprints! Plus, you only need some simple materials like cardstock, scissors, and glue.

Leprechaun Hand Craft

Let your kids get creative with their projects – no two will be the same! With this handprint leprechaun, your kids will work on their cutting skills and hand-eye coordination as they cut out and assemble the paper pieces.

Supplies

Directions

Start by downloading the leprechaun template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity made from your child’s little handprints. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this leprechaun to life!

First, help your child glue the eyes to the middle of the leprechaun’s face.

Next, place the nose just below and in between the eyes, then glue it in place.

Now, use an orange marker to draw the eyebrows just above the eyes.

Help your child trace their hand on a piece of orange paper, cut it out, and position the leprechaun’s face in the middle of the handprint with the fingers pointed down. Glue it in place.

Encourage your child to create the hat by gluing the hat band to the middle of the hat.

Glue the yellow buckle in the middle of the black band and then secure the black inner buckle in the middle of the yellow buckle.

Finally, place the completed hat on top of the leprechaun handprint and glue it in place.

This is such a simple DIY your kids will love creating for St. Paddy’s Day! Since this idea uses common supplies, it makes a great handprint art project in the classroom, too! Your messy little monster will love making this little guy for St. Patrick’s Day.

Make this cute and easy handprint leprechaun craft with the kids for St. Patrick's Day!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Leprechaun template

Tools

Instructions

  1. Download the leprechaun template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Glue the eyes to the middle of the leprechaun face.
  3. Place the nose just below and in between the eyes and glue in place.
  4. Use an orange marker to draw the eyebrows just above the eyes.
  5. Trace your child's hand on a piece of orange paper and cut it out. Position the face in the middle of the handprint, with the fingers pointed down, and glue in place.
  6. Create the hat by gluing the hat band to the middle of the hat.
  7. Glue the yellow buckle in the middle of the black band and then glue the black inner buckle in the middle of the yellow buckle.
  8. Place the completed hat on the top of the leprechaun handprint and glue it in place.
