This easy St. Patrick’s Day craft can be made with just a few simple supplies. It’s quick with minimal prep for busy parents or teachers. There’s even a free printable template you can use to make this project hassle-free.
Just follow the step-by-step directions below to see how easy it is to construct these pipe cleaner shamrock men with your little ones this March.

Shamrock Man Craft
Our printable shamrock craft template makes it simple to enjoy the spring holiday at home and in the classroom. This is a DIY project that’s great for practicing scissor skills and building finger strength too.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Green pipe cleaners
- Tape
- Glue
- Shamrock template (click the “click here to get your freebie” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this shamrock to life!
Begin by gluing the eyes just above the mouth.

Next, Get a full-length green pipe cleaner and bend the bottom of one end to make a round foot shape. Wrap the wire around the end to keep that foot secure. Repeat the process for the other foot.

Now, flip the shamrock base over and tape the two feet pipe cleaners to the back of the shamrock.

Cut the third pipe cleaner in half and twist the end of one side into a 3-fingered hand. Repeat the process on the other side to create another hand.

Finish off by taping the arms, one on each side, near the middle of the shamrock base on the backside. Then, bend the arms and legs into your desired shape.

We’re sure your kiddo will love creating this craft for St. Patrick’s Day! Check out our other spring crafts they will love to make too!
