Snowglobe Name Craft
Your little elves will love making this adorable Buddy the Elf snow globe craft that features one of their favorite Christmas characters.
This name recognition activity is an easy and festive way to help kids practice spelling their name while also making a cute keepsake. This project will help them work on fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination and strengthen their letter and name recognition.
We have a free editable pdf for you to type your child’s name into before printing. So grab this Buddy the Elf template, some easy to find supplies, and your little ones to have a merry afternoon making memories and learning.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- White Paint Pen
- Markers
- Pom Poms

Directions
Start by downloading and printing the template. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this elf to life!

Look for the eye pieces and glue them onto the elf’s head.

Glue the orange hair onto the elf’s head, right above the eyes, to give Buddy his bright and jolly look!

Use markers to add cute details, such as cheeks and eyebrows.

Find the hat and glue it on top of his head.

Look for the hat band and glue it across the middle of the hat.

Grab the red feather and glue it to the side of the hat. That’s his fancy little touch!

Let’s dress Buddy up! Find his collar and glue it right below his head.

Grab the green coat and glue it right under his collar.

To complete Buddy the Elf’s outfit, glue the belt buckle onto the belt.

Let’s start making the snow globe! Help your child grab the snow piece and glue it to the bottom of the snow globe piece.

Now let’s put Buddy in his snowy home! Glue the completed elf onto the snow.

For the best part, grab the letters that spell your child’s name! Let your child help arrange and glue them over the lower part of Buddy. It’s a fun way to practice spelling and see their name come to life!

To make it extra snowy, grab a white pen or marker and help your child draw little snowflakes the snowglobe.

Lastly, you can have fun adding pom poms around the snow globe. It’s the perfect finishing touch to make your Buddy the Elf craft extra festive!

Materials

- White Paint Pen, Crayola Bold & Bright White Marker, or snowflake stickers
- Markers
- White Pom Poms optional
- Elf Name Template
Instructions
- Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Start by gluing the eyes onto the elf’s head.
- Then, glue the hair on the elf’s head.
- Next, use markers to add details such as cheeks and eyebrows.
- After that, glue the hat to the top of the elf’s head.
- Place the hat band across the middle of the hat and glue it down.
- Then, glue the feather to the back and side of the hat.
- Glue the collar to the back and bottom of the head.
- Next, glue the coat behind the collar.
- Add the belt buckle to the middle of the belt and glue it in place.
- Prepare the snow globe by gluing the snow piece to the bottom of the snow globe base.
- Then, glue the completed elf onto the snow.
- Arrange the letters that spell the child’s name by the bottom of the elf and glue them in place.
- Use a marker, white paint pen, or snowflake stickers to create stickers around the snow globe.
- Optionally, finish by gluing pom poms around the snow globe for extra decoration.
