Paint the paper plate with a thin coat of red or green pain. Let dry completely before moving on.
Place the apple template on the dry paper plate, trace, and cut out the shape.
First, encourage your child to position the stem at the top of the paper plate and glue it in place.
Next, guide your child to glue the leaf just to the side of the stem. Use a black marker to draw a curved line to represent the dip in the middle of an apple.
Now, glue the eyes just below the leaf, in the center of the plate.
Place the tongue in the middle of the mouth and glue in place. Use the scissors to trim off the excess paper.
Finally, glue the completed mouth below the eyes.
