Directions
Download the mouse template and cut out the pieces. We suggest printing the mouse body and eyes on plain computer paper, not cardstock. It’s much easier to wrap thin paper around the toilet paper roll.
Glue the eyes just above the mouse’s nose, one on either side.
Place the white belly below the mouth and glue in place. Use scissors to trim off any excess paper that goes off of the cardboard tube.
Use glue or tape to secure the mouse’s body to the toilet paper roll.
Glue the pink inner ear to the gray outer ear. We find it easiest to smash the tubes slightly in order to make them more flat before moving on to the next step.
Take the completed ears and glue them to the top of the cardboard tube. We prefer to use a glue dot for each ear since they’re strong and there’s no drying time.
Now you have a cute little mouse craft!
Farm Animal Themed Unit
We often get emails asking if we have any other activities or crafts that go with the crafts we share. Most often the answer is yes!
To put together a quick farm animal-themed unit, we have a few suggestions.
First, if you’re working with preschool and kindergarten children, we recommend these farm animal printables.
These worksheets and activities will help kids work on the alphabet, fine motor skills, handwriting, and more. Plus, they’re fun to do!
After some structured learning, let the kids have some open-ended play with this farm animal small world play. It’s great for letting those little imaginations run wild and create new connections through hands-on play.
Next, grab some of these farm animal books from your shelf or the library and read to the kids. They’re fun and engaging and help kids develop their vocabulary.
If your kids love coloring, give these farm coloring pages a shot as well.
Finally, pick a few of your favorite farm animal crafts, like this mouse craft and this paper plate horse craft, this cow craft, or this paper bag cat craft.
These are just a few ways you can expand on this cute mouse craft. We hope your child or students have tons of fun!
